Sam Parker Counselling
You are not alone
Taking the first step toward counselling isn’t always easy. I’m here to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and understood.
I provide person-centred and compassionate support focused on you as an individual.
About Me
I’m Sam Parker, a BACP-registered counsellor. I offer UK-wide online sessions and face to face sessions from my office in Didsbury, Manchester. I specialise in person-centred counselling for adults and young people.
I became a counsellor because I genuinely care about people knowing they’re not alone.
I support clients facing a wide range of issues, including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Neurodivergence, and related experiences
- Chronic and physical health challenges
- Life-limiting illness
- Bereavement and grief
- Issues relating to faith or religion
- Eating distress and eating disorders
- Suicidal ideation
- Self-harm
- Behavioural and substance based addictions
I have over eight years of professional experience working with wellbeing, mental health and addiction. Primarily I have worked with individuals, and have been responsible for managing and training staff who do the same. During this time I have worked with individuals aged from 11 to 75+ on all of the issues listed above and more. This has included working in Alternative Provision and Education, an NHS Bereavement Service and with multiple local and national charities.
Before this career I studied Theatre at University to a Masters level. I love being creative, and creativity remains a big part of how I think and connect. I know how to be sincere, but I also like to share in my client’s humour, connecting this way helps me to understand more about who you are. I will always honour the depth of what you bring and I like to build a relationship with clients where you feel comfortable to do so.
I offer a counselling approach that is non-judgmental, stigma-free, and centred around you. My priority is to create a warm, compassionate, and safe space where you can explore whatever is on your mind. You set the pace, and together we’ll explore what matters most to you.

Happy with the support
Feel the support has been beneficial
I feel able to talk about things that are bothering me knowing you will not be judgemental. I also feel that I would be able to tell you if I thought you had misinterpreted something I had said although I can't recall that ever occurring.
After a small number of seasons I already feel better and have noticed improvements in my mindset. Looking forward to further improvements over time
This approach empowers individuals to trust themselves, develop resilience, and create positive change in their lives. By fostering self-acceptance and emotional healing, person-centred counselling promotes lasting wellbeing

Person-Centred Counselling is effective for individuals dealing with:
Anxiety & Stress
Depression
Low Self-Esteem
Relationship Challenges
Trauma & Loss
Personal Growth & Self-Exploration
Life Dissatisfaction
Person-Centred Counselling is a humanistic approach that focuses on the individual’s unique experiences and capacity for personal growth. Developed by Carl Rogers in the 1950s, this therapy is based on the belief that people have an innate ability to overcome challenges and reach their full potential when given the right support.
My Office
I’m really proud of this cosy space in the heart of Didsbury, Manchester. It’s one in which I hope my clients can come to feel safe, and heard. It’s easily accessible by all the forms of public transport that Manchester has to offer, and parking at the rear.
Face to face sessions?
Having the option of face to face sessions has been really important for my clients. Having somewhere to come specifically for the purpose of counselling allows them to be present and focus on what they need in their time with me.
My room is private, quiet, calm and entirely mine. This means that you can relax knowing that our conversations will be kept safe and confidential.
Neurodiverse friendly
I have tried to make this space as neurodiverse friendly as possible, a space that is calming for the nervous system and has plenty to look at without being overstimulating. Want a session with me?
